fashions of a pe teacher

so i did it, i finally made that step
i applied to grad school
quite the nerve-wracking experience, but im excited. when i graduated last year i wasn't sure what i wanted to do- job, school, internships, move- honestly though, i was mostly worried about justin. so now that i've got him, i knew i needed to take another step. maybe a month ago, the hubs & i were talking and i was telling him how frustrated & saddened i was that some of our friends were selling themselves short, either with their job or from not pursuing more education or whatnot (no names- dont wry, you don't know them). well, my insightful significant other remarked "are you sure its not you who is frustrated from selling yourself short?" burn. but a very true burn. all i've ever wanted to do was coach lacrosse, i haven't really had any other professional goal other than that.
so for the next week i looked up graduate programs in las vegas that i could do. i once thought i'd want to go to physical therapy school, but alas, $30,000 plus 4 years of work plus holding off on having a family was not my cup of tea, not to mention i have never been that interested in that side of exercise science. then to what-do-i-wondering-eyes-should appear, but a licensure + masters program @ unlv. its the same program my bestie kayla is doing but i just never thought about it. honestly, because ive been traumatized, much like you all have been, from pe teachers. i hated pe in ms/hs, but i do love teaching, learning, & pe (the subject) so it made sense. well, as of today, i applied to the graduate program @ unlv (aka, a poor man's suu). it'll prob take me 2 years but i'm excited- it will be well worth the loans, time, and tears. the biggest upside was it's made for working professionals, so i can still work ft (that way we won't have to completely drain my mother's pantry- your welcome). so in tribute to my new found career advancement, i dedicate this post to the pe teachers in all of us.
well, i can't think of pe teachers without gasping in horror at their fashion. not that im some gossip girl, but im not a pre-makeover gracie hart either. the great predicament i now face is making the pe teacher's wardrobe to evolve from stretchy pants & t's to something a little more sophisticated. any ideas?
well, being the gleek that i am, how could i not mention sue slyvester? as a track suit wearing czar of high school, she is not exactly what i'd consider the bees knees or cats meow in the clothing area. but emma, now she knows how to work those clothes. she is who i look up to, but alas, i think pearls clash quite blindingly with dodgeballs & birdies. my goal = someone work in this look. but def def def stay away from ken's wardrobe attire. i dont think a beer belly hanging over my cloth shorts will go with my skin tone.

now away from glee, jennifer gardner was another teacher who did clothes right in "valentine's day" movie. why doesn't the cinematic community ever show pe teachers looking gorgeous & sleek? is it really too much to ask for? oh, and to the most famous teacher of all, Edna Krabappel, that sexy beast.
