the story of meltin

today is our 6 month anniversary. but to be more specific, we have been together for 2092 days; 5 years, 8 months, and 23 days. wowzers. time sure flies by when you're having fun. so to commemorate, i am hereby putting into history the story of meltin. it is a simple, yet entertaining love story.

it all started off at molasky jhs, 7th grade. that's the day i met teryl, justin's lovely mother. she was the assistant to the choir & orchestra teacher. kayla & i quickly became friends with her (mr. campbell didn't really control the choir group), hanging out in her office regularly. that's when i saw it; the picture that changed it all. (i wish i had it to put here; if wishes were fishes) justin david harrison shining so brightly in his steeler's football gear, looking quite dashing. i was just the smitten kitten. i think teryl found it amusing, but i was lovestruck. i didn't actually meet justin til the next semester in ms. camp's life science class. he was sitting in front of me and i had to grade one of his papers. that's when i spotted his name. "you're mrs harrison's son?" oh he was not happy that that was how i knew him. so i continued to fawn over him while he despised my presence. so what's a resourceful gal to do? well, stalk him of course!

eventually we became 'hi' friends. i'd try to make conversation when possible but justin was quite the shy one. 8th grade he had a joint bday party with austin lefevre at chuckee cheeses (i know. silly boy) and i was lucky enough to get an invite. that's when i got my first hug and let me tell you, it was magical. once we got to high school, i continued to throw myself in his life by becoming friends with his friends (i know. persistent). as we moved through the hs ranks, we became best friends. doing homework together, going to movies, stealing underwear (oh wait, that was just me. technically it was my sister anna when we decorated his room for his 15th birthday). i'd go to his football games and cheer, basically try anything i could to get his attention. and for some unknown reason, it didn't work. justin remained blissfully ignorant of my unrequited love while everyone else was painfully obvious of this fact.

i invited him to gr sophmore year- this was our first date. please, do not mock the dress. as junior year ended, he finally started to notice me. everyone else told me to move on, but alas, i gave him until the end of hs to make his move (what can i say? i'm a hopeless romantic who was endlessly optimistic that we'd be perfect for each other). the summer before sr year we hardly spent anytime together- i believe this was the catalyst for our change of relationship. once we got back to school, we started hanging out more just the two of us. then one night he invited me to see some movies at the drive-in. we cuddled, but he didn't make his move til the 3rd movie. our first kiss. that night i proclaimed this new development on the rooftop. a week later we were official. from there the time just flew by.

two years of college came then justin went on a mission to uruguay. let me tell you- worst time ever, but the best at the same time. we grew up in different way and we both weren't sure what would happen when he got home. july 24th he came home. the instant he parked the car i ran out. the first thing he did was grab and kiss me. best day of my entire life. 3 months later we were engaged. 3 more months we wee married.

now years and years later, we proclaim we've been together since the dawn of time and haven't regretted a second of it. we may not be the normal disgusting newlyweds that people expect (you're welcome world) but we couldn't imagine life without each other. he is my one & only sailor.

so happy halfiversary to us.

I didn't steal the underwear. I found the underwear and Lindsay gave it to you.
