turn off the boob tube & read: the pact

lame - do not read
this month for book club my friend holly is in charge of picking, so she picked "miss peregrine's school for peculiar children" by ransom riggs- i say SKIP! i've been forcing myself to get through it. she wanted to pick 'the pact' by jodi picoult but fearing some girls wouldn't like the language/sex she went with a safe bet. well let me tell you, 'the pact' is super good. yes it has some cuss words and there are some sexual scenes but the story is just so good, i didn't think it was that bad.

the premise:  two families who live right next to eachother and their daughter & son grow up together. they're best friends then slowly become a couple in hs. the daughter is killed at the beginning of the book from an apparent suicide pact but the son is soon put on trial for her death.

like i said, there was a couple different instances where they describe different sexual things but nothing like  'the girl with the dragon tattoo'. i loved how it kept you on the edge, always turning the page. the author kept jumping back in time from their childhood to the trial. a great read- but definatly an adult novel.

just found out it's a lifetime movie- but can't find on amazon, itunes or anywhere. let me know if anyone has this hidden in their VCR somewhere.
