i attempted to get the view of the city - fail as my friend cheryl pointed out, my pregnancy has caused my photography skills to wane |
it was a once-in-a-blue-moon beautiful day in carson where the weather was upwards of 40 degrees so we sought out the hill besides our church. i've seen the trail for quite some time and wanted to navigate it. justin is not much of a hiker but i convinced him with my womanly ways. the hike was easy enough and pretty worn- we saw some craziness. like a 10x20 fenced off section of hill that was presumably guarding nothing. a huge pile of burned pots or canteens or something. and snow - which inspired this act of love
on our way down we noticed that at the bottom of the hill were some headstones. let me help you visualize this scene - our church is on a hill at the base of a mountain. on the bottom of the hill are houses that back up to the mountain. at the armpit of this [5 feet from people's back yards and 20 feet from our church] were some creepy headstones. granted they were old, maybe it was from carson's first graveyard. either way, kinda an ominous spot for a church right?
herrreee's the view |
oh and i got in a cage. as with most 'tales from a zobrist childhood', i've got some unresolved issues. i think this one stems from the time anna & i were locked in our new chicken coop [i was about 6 or 7ish] and my dad made us sleep in there all night. with the chickens. anna even let one of them sleep in her sleeping bag. so ya, let's blame my dad.
i'm the one in the front |
i don't get this cage's purpose and why it was on the hiking trail |

You girls slept with the chickens quite often. I think only the first time was it an actual punishment. The other times you guys wanted to
I am sure hankering to go on a hike now. Did you bag a delicous mountain lion? Or a billy goat? Mmmm....my prego mouth is watering.
